When disease turns up in service to love

The work of Family Constellations is all about making visible the invisible forces that drive the behaviours, beliefs, symptoms, and patterns that seem to thwart us in our efforts to live a good life.

One of the foundational views of this work is that when seen as part of the whole all of that which binds us to suffering and unwellness suddenly makes sense. So much of what we try to push away or to “fix” has really just turned up in service to highlighting the places where love stopped flowing in our family system, that is where trauma is held, where events remain unresolved, or where someone was excluded. When what lays beneath all of our seeming dysfunction is able to be really seen then the whole system can heave a sigh of relief and the energetic release can be palpably felt.

Communication, Healing, Quantum Science, and Interconnectedness: Lisa Sabatini and Sarah Knight in conversation

Podcast Lisa Sabatini

An extract from the Possibility Project Podcast.

Sarah Knight: You haven’t always done this work. Where did you come from and what brought you into doing healing work?

Lisa Sabatini: I originally came from journalism and communications – I was a journalist for many years, I produced television. I like to explain it this way…journalism is about research but communication is about taking the things in journalism that might be really complex and making them relatable and clear. I feel like everything around us is communication, even healing and the work that we do, is very much about communication. Communicating with ourselves, our bodies, our emotions, our thoughts, our spirit – that is our beliefs – and even with nature. How we communicate with the world around us and how the world around us communicates with us.

What frequencies are you emitting?

As a scientist turned energy healer I often reflect on one of the fundamental equations of science, E=mc2.

Einstein’s equation tells us that energy (E) and matter (m) are interchangeable. It says that a beam of light and an apple core are essentially the same thing.  The c in the equation represents the speed of light, and tells us that when energy is released from matter, it travels at the speed of light.

Another quality of energy is that it vibrates at a certain frequency, depending on the kind of energy that we are talking about.

In Kingston, there’s a lot of talk about harmful energetic frequencies emitted by electromagnetic fields. Like all energy, this energy has the ability to interact with matter, possibly changing its structure. This is certainly a great concern.

The POSSIBILITY PROJECT

“If we all did the things we are really capable of doing, we would literally astound ourselves.”
Thomas A. Edison

Yes. I absolutely believe this to be true. The Possibility Project Podcast is my latest exploration in to this largely undiscovered territory of the miracle of all that we could be.

We are made of the stuff of seemingly infinite possibility. From one cell, we become 26 billion by the time that we are born. From that one cell, the information that it contains, and the energetic environment that it is left stewing in, we become creatures of incredible complexity. Even now, in the approximately 30 trillion cellular mass that you are, you lose and create over 50 billion cells every single day. Our bodies hum with the power and possibility of infinite creation.

And yet, we spend most of our lives narrowly focused on feelings of impossibility.

Preparing for Climate Change

Later this month, KIHC’s Energy Therapist, Sarah Knight, will be representing Green Economy member KIHC at the Kingston Climate Change Symposium, where she will give a short talk and “Climate Change Trauma Release” mini-workshop. The Constellation of Your Family

I stepped in to the centre of the circle of people and my posture changed immediately. I slouched, my toes turned inward, and my gaze shifted fearfully towards the floor as I stood several paces away from both my “husband” and my “daughter”. My body became very much aware of a need to get her as close to me as possible, while steering well clear of his strong presence.

I was not actually married to this man, I’d only just met him earlier that day, but we had both been asked by the young woman to step in to the roles of her parents, in a process known broadly as “Family Constellations”. We were given no information, but such is the experience of a participant who is willing to just follow the lead of their own body in a Family Constellations workshop. As it turned out, we were embodying her parents pretty accurately, and through the careful lead of the facilitator this young woman gained some great insights, and likely took a bit of a leap in her own healing journey, as the constellation revealed clues as to how her family imprint holds her back.
