Food Sensitivities & Allergies
Food sensitivities are a potential source of inflammation that contribute to chronic illness. Symptoms can occur hours to days after exposure, and can including anything from brain fog and headache, to digestive upset, joint pain, and weight gain.
For food sensitivities, we use blood testing (ELISA antibody testing), conducted by US Biotek, LifeLabs/Rocky Mountain Analytical, or Dynacare. This type of testing is different than those requisitioned by your Medical Doctor or Allergist for IgE food allergies. The cost of the test depends on which foods and immune pathways require testing, but most panels start at about $270.
Many extended health insurance plans cover the cost of food sensitivity testing when requisitioned by a Naturopathic Doctor.
