COVID-19 Policies August & September
Please know that these guidelines are subject to change quickly, in accordance with Public Health and Ministry of Health guidelines.
Masks at KIHC
Mask mandates for healthcare facilities were removed by government authorities on June 11th, 2022. At KIHC, this means that masks are optional for patients, clients, staff, and practitioners. You are welcome to continue wearing a mask, or not, according to what feels right to you.
We understand that everyone’s healthcare needs are different. If your practitioner can help you feel more comfortable during your appointment by wearing a mask, please ask.
Attending In-person Appointments
If you have symptoms of COVID-19 infection or suspected COVID-19 infection, or live with someone who is experiencing symptoms, do not attend in-person appointments until at least 10 days have passed beyond symptom onset. This is regardless of vaccination status or rapid-antigen test results. When appropriate, telemedicine options (video and telephone) are available. (These guidelines align with public health requirements for additional precautions following COVID-19 infection.)
Attending Appointments with a Family Member
As always, when appropriate, patients are welcome to bring a family member (e.g. a spouse, parent) with them to important appointments.
Travel Restrictions
We have no additional isolation requirements for in-person appointments, following national or international travel. (You can find up-to-date Canadian travel, testing, and isolation requirements, here.)
Curb-Side Pick-Up
This policy is likely here to stay. If you’re feeling unwell, if you’ve been exposed or are experiencing any cold or flu symptoms, please do not enter the clinic. Please give us a call (or email) and pay for your prescription and supplement items in advance. We’ll have them ready for pick-up.
