Energy Intensive Program (Getting Unstuck)

Overview:
The Energy Intensive “Getting Unstuck” program consists of four Bioenergy healing sessions with Sarah, conducted within a 4-10 day time period. It is designed to work deeply on every level. By conducting repeat sessions within a relatively short span of time, layers of emotional/physical/energetic stagnation can be worked through, to get to the root of an issue.

“If you need a boost then these classes are for you! In each session you will be guided through a series of gentle exercises, movements and meditations, designed to help you harness your natural ability to direct the flow of healing energy within your own system. The focus will be on clearing toxic build ups of stagnant energy and recharging and rebalancing your energy system. Absolutely no prior knowledge of energy work of any kind is required.”

Launch: Caregiver Cooperative Workshop

Are you worried about how your aging family member is coping at home? As a son or daughter, what can you do to ensure your parent is able to stay living safely on their own? And at what point should you consider assistance or even moving?

Tuesday January 19th

Simple home renovations for safety
Adaptive equipment, mobility devices, and technologies that can increase independence and quality of life
Government funding options
Discussion about available public and private community resources, including drop-off centres and programs
Question and answer period

Facilited by Phillip Wendt, Occupational Therapist. Phillip serves on the Board of Directors for the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists, is an Instructor and Adjunct Lecturer at Queen’s University, and maintains a private practice at KIHC.

Fatigue Management Course

Kingston Integrated Healthcare Inc. is offering an energy management course designed for adults in the community with fatigue secondary to a chronic illness.

To benefit from this course, your fatigue must be severe enough to have a negative or inhibitory impact on your daily life and function. This six week program aims to:

• Decrease fatigue by teaching ways of managing and conserving energy.
• Teach the importance of rest and the proper use of technology, equipment, and body mechanics,
• Help you in designing schedules in order to balance lifestyle and re-integrate daily activities without over extending yourself.

The sessions will use lectures, discussions, and activity stations to teach this information. Homework activities will be assigned to customize learning to your specific situation. The program will involve one 2-hour session every week. Participants are expected to attend all sessions, participate in class discussions and activities, and complete all homework assignments.

We’re gearing up for our 7th annual Open House to welcome newcomers and greet familiar faces. Please join us for draw prizes, chair massages, demonstrations, tours, refreshments, and a lot of fun!

We’re welcoming a couple of new team members this year:

Phillip Wendt is an experienced and passionate Occupational Therapist eager to help clients get back to activities they enjoy doing, despite injury, illness, chronic disease, or other concern. He’s offering a 6 week fatigue management course here at KIHC, to start this June.

Jianmin (Jamie) Xu is a Registered Acupuncturist. She is trained as a Medical Doctor in China and comes to us with 15 years of experience as a Registered Acupuncturist in Canada.
